Severe obesity is a serious public health problem. It is a complex condition recognized by the WHO and the EU as a chronic disease as well as a significant risk factor for the development of serious sequelae.

There is also marked social inequality in who develops severe obesity. It is a challenge for both individuals and society due to large human and financial costs.

In order to help people with severe obesity, it is crucial to establish innovative public-private solutions within prevention, detection and treatment. This is what we work for every day.
